Sony Digital Voice Editor Transcription Software

A. IC Recorder Message Pane Displays the folders and messages contained in the IC recorder (or the Memory Stick drive) you select from the IC recorder combo box. B. Menu Bar You can access and execute the menu commands. For the details, see the menu commands. C. Toolbar Contains the buttons for common menu command tasks, providing a quick way to do the selected task. For the details, see the tool bar. D. PC Message Pane Displays the drive, folders, and messages stored on your computer's hard disk. E. Player Pane Contains the buttons or sliders to control the playback operations of a message. In the left section of the pane, the information of the message being played back is displayed with the playback counter. F. Special Function Buttons Pane Contains the following buttons for special functions.
Sony Digital File Formats 1. DVF file (Digital Voice File/file extension: .dvf) The DVF file* is a sound file format used in recording messages on the Sony IC recorder equipped with a USB port. The sound data is compressed so that the size of the data is relatively small. You can edit and play back the DVF files on the Digital Voice Editor, add them to the IC recorder and play them back on the IC recorder. On the Digital Voice Editor, a DVF file can be converted into an ICS(SP), MSV(SP), WAV(16kHz, 8/16bit) file for the SP mode, or into an MSV(LP), WAV(8kHz, 8/16bit) file for the LP mode. *2. MSV file (Memory Stick Voice file/file extension: .msv) The MSV file is a sound file format used in recording messages on the Memory Stick IC recorder. The sound data is compressed so that the size of the data is relatively small. You can edit and play back the MSV files on the Sony Memory Stick Voice Editor, write them on the Memory Stick to be restored and played back on the Memory Stick IC recorder. On the Digital Voice Editor, an MSV file can be converted into an ICS(SP), DVF(SP), WAV(11kHz, 8/16bit) file for the SP mode, or into a DVF(LP), WAV(8kHz, 8/16bit) file for the LP mode. 3. WAV file (WAV FILE [8kHz/11kHz/16kHz, 8 bit/16 bit monaural] file/file extension: .wav)* The WAV file is a PCM 8kHz/11kHz/16kHz, 8 bit/16 bit monaural sound file used in recorded sound in standard Windows application software. You can play back a WAV file on Windows software such as the "Sound Recorder" supplied with Windows 98, Windows 2000 or Windows Me. To use the application compatible with a 16 bit WAV file, save the message as a WAV (16 bit) file. On the Digital Voice Editor, a WAV file can be converted into an MSV(SP), DVF(SP), ICS(SP) file for the 11kHz/16kHz file, or into an MSV(LP) or DVF(LP) file for the 8kHz file.
